Look for a rope with handle coming out of garage opener. Pulling on this rope will release garage door from pulling trolley and the door is now free to open by hand. Keep in mind, that when garage door is in open position, the opener trolley is holding the weight of the door above your head. If you pull on the rope it will unlatch the door from the opener and your garage door will come down with its full weight crashing to the ground.

Support Door Before Release

If your garage door got stuck and would not close, there is a way to safely close it in manual mode without danger of door falling hard. First find something tall to position in between bottom of the door and floor to support garage door. A piece of wood or step ladder would work and prevent door from crashing when bypass is triggered.

Reconnect Trolley

After you are done using your garage door manually and want to go back to normal automatic operation, you will have to reattach door opener trolley latch to the door. Pull on the handle with rope again and slide door all the way up to snap it back in.
